A few performers have received posthumous Academy Award nominations for their work in the film in question. Even after their passing, certain actors have received an Academy Award.

Another famous person who was sadly slain is Adrienne Shelly. Before subsequent inquiries using evidence discovered at the site contradicted it, the police thought it was a suicide. She was just 40 years old when she passed away in November 2006. Waitress, her popular movie, came out in 2007. She co-wrote, directed, and starred in the movie.

After going on to win several honors, Waitress was eventually transformed in 2016 into a Broadway musical. Sara Bareilles, a vocalist, wrote both the music and the lyrics for the musical, which featured Jessie Mueller.

Oliver Reed Had A Long Career In Hollywood Before His Death

Oliver Reed was well-known in the movie business until his passing in May 1999. As Athos in The Three Musketeers and The Four Musketeers, Reed is well-known.

As Reed was working for his part as Antonius Proximo in Ridley Scott’s Gladiator, he suffered a heart attack in Malta and passed away. Age-wise, he was 61. For Best Actor in a Supporting Role, Reed received a BAFTA Award nomination after his passing. Jude Law won the award for his work in The Talented Mr. Ripley, which he lost to.

In the Hollywood film business, Clark Gable played a variety of parts and was sometimes referred to as the “King of Hollywood.” With his performance as Rhett Butler in Gone with the Wind, Gable is well-known. With his co-star Marilyn Monroe, Gable played another one of his most illustrious parts in Arthur Miller’s The Misfits.

Both of the stars’ final movies were in this one. Gable passed away from two heart attacks in November 1960, a few months before The Misfits was published. He was 59 years old.

James Dean was a rising star in the Hollywood film business until he was killed in a vehicle accident in 1955 at the age of 24. He worked in the business for only five years, but his roles in Giant and East of Eden earned him two posthumous Oscar nominations for Best Actor.

Dean was the first actor to be nominated for an Oscar posthumously. Several months before he passed away, his most famous movie, Rebel Without A Cause, was released.

Brandon Lee Meets A Similar Fate As His Father

Brandon Lee inherited the acting and martial arts skills of his father, Bruce Lee. Bruce, Brandon’s father, passed away when he was just eight years old. Even the part of Bruce Lee’s father in the movie Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story was declined by Lee. He said that depicting his parents’ romance would be too “awkward.”

Brandon was sadly and unintentionally hurt on the set while filming The Crow by subpar blank ammo, and he ultimately passed away at the age of only 28 in a hospital. There were just eight more shooting days remaining. In the end, The Crow was a financially successful film.

Bruce Lee Died Shortly Before Enter The Dragon Was Released

Bruce Lee was on his way to becoming one of the biggest martial arts stars in the movie business. Tragically, his premature passing in 1973 at the age of only 32 cuts short his stardom. Before his death, Lee was contributing to the movie Game of Death. Due to the limited amount of footage shot before Lee’s passing, the movie took five years to complete.

Lee passed away barely one month before Enter the Dragon, his most well-known movie, was released. The movie went on to earn among the largest sums of money that year.

Phil Hartman frequently appeared on Saturday Night Live and was honored with a Primetime Emmy for his performance. In May 1998, Hartman’s wife shot him to death before she killed herself. Two months had passed after his passing before he played Phil Fimple in Little Soldiers.

In the English dub of Kiki’s Delivery Service, Hartman also provided Jiji’s voice. Unfortunately, this was another movie that came out after he passed away. Hartman had created record covers for several bands in addition to acting.

Paul Walker’s Performance Was Partly Done Using His Brothers As Body Doubles

For his role as Brian O’Conner in the Fast & Furious series, Paul Walker was well-known. Prior to the release of Furious 7, Walker passed away in a vehicle accident in 2013 at the age of 40. His brothers were enlisted as body doubles and special effects were employed to finish the movie.

Walker and co-star Vin Diesel, who plays Dominic Toretto, earned an MTV Movie Award for Best On-Screen Duo for their work in Fast & Furious 6. Walker also received a posthumous Teen Choice Award for Favorite Movie Star: Action.

Philip Seymour Hoffman Died While Filming Mockingjay – Part Two

Before his last movie was released, Philip Seymour Hoffman had a long career in the film business. In February 2014, Hoffman overdosed on drugs accidentally and passed away at the age of 46. Only eight days remained for him to complete filming for his part as Plutarch Heavensbee in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay-Part 2.

After Hoffman’s passing, Hunger Games: Mockingjay-Part 1 was published in November 2014. November 2015 saw the release of the second installment. Hoffman was replaced in the last sequences that were shot without him with a body double.

Heath Ledger Won Best Supporting Actor Posthumously

Six months before to the publication of The Dark Knight, in January 2008, Heath Ledger passed away at the early age of 28. As The Joker in the movie, Ledger received a posthumous Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. On his behalf, the honor was accepted by his parents and sister.

Ledger was the fourth-youngest actor to get an Oscar posthumously and the second actor to do so. Peter Finch, who starred in Network, became the first actor to receive a posthumous Oscar in 1977.
