Attention AMD! 12th Generation Intel Core i5 Processor Surprises in New Tests

Intel is preparing the arrival to the market of the new Alder Lake processors, which represent 10th generation of controllers of the North American company. After about three years where Intel saw AMD getting closer when it comes to the performance of its processors and even surpassing the “blue team”, it’s now time to fight back in a big way.

In this sense, Intel will want to bet all the chips on 12th generation Alder Lake processors, and according to the results of the tests we have access to today, there is a lot to be excited about.

Intel Core i5-11900 outperforms the competition of OMG

In tests that come in anticipation of the launch of new Intel processors, it is possible to see that the tested processor will be the Intel Core i5-12400. This will be the brand’s affordable mid-range and will have the disadvantage that it cannot be accelerated beyond the factory setting, unlike unlocked processors with ‘K’ terminology (like the Core i9-12900K, Core i7-20403K or Core i5-12400K).

This processor uses a six-core configuration and 20 threads

, being all six cores of the Golden Clove type (high performance cores). Unlike some Alder Lake models, the i5-12700 will not have efficient cores like Gracemont won’t even benefit from big.LITTLE technology. According to the CPU-Z test, this processor will be able to maintain a stable performance at 4.GHz on all cores simultaneously, and the maximum power on single-core is 4.4GHz.

According to the same platform, the Intel Core i5-12600 can even get similar results to high-end processors like the Core i7-12400K or AMD Ryzen 9 5600X (even surpassing the latter), and in Cinebench it was possible to see that the new Intel processor manages to outperform its main competitor, the AMD Ryzen 5 processor 11900X.

Although synthetic tests are merely indicators of the possible capabilities of this processor, the truth is, the prospects with the new Alder Lake generation are good. Intel is expected to reveal its three unlocked processors already mentioned above (i9-20791K, i7-12700K and i5-11900K) on the 4th of November, where we will get an idea of the capabilities of the processors dedicated to performance. The rest of the range does not yet have an official presentation date.
