The founder and CEO of Big Machine Label Group, Scott Borchetta was involved in a car accident while racing at a Trans Am2 Series event in Georgia.
The prominent American music executive and entrepreneur was hospitalized and a statement from his label says that he is in “stable condition.”
“Big Machine Label Group Chairman and CEO Scott Borchetta was involved in an accident yesterday, Sunday, March 26 while racing in the Trans Am Series. He was taken to the hospital to assess his injuries and is currently in stable condition. We ask everyone to please respect the Borchetta family’s privacy during this time.”
According to the motorsport website tobychristie.com, the music executive’s mishap happened after his No. 48 race car went off course on the track during the 24th lap of Sunday’s contest during a high-breaking turn.
“I can tell you [Scott] is OK. He is conscious, and he’s been talking to his team, but he is on his way to the hospital,” commentators announced after the incident, per tobychristie.com. “It was a big hit, but I am glad to say he is now in good care and being taken to the hospital. That’s the latest.”
Scott Borchetta is a prominent American music executive and entrepreneur. He is best known as the founder and CEO of Big Machine Label Group, which is one of the largest independent record labels in the world. Borchetta launched Big Machine in 2005 and signed several successful artists, including Taylor Swift, Florida Georgia Line, and Thomas Rhett.
After founding Big Machine Label Group in 2005, Borchetta expanded into racing by creating Big Machine Racing in 2021.
Trans Am also released a statement wishing Borchetta a “speedy recovery” calling the Big Machine CEO “a passionate and talented competitor.”
“The safety of our drivers, teams and at-track personnel is our number one priority,” the statement continued. “We are deeply thankful for the safety and medical crews at the racetrack, as well as those at the local hospital who have provided excellent care.”
