Bates will not return to the air after UPtv decided to discontinue the long-running reality series.
However, on Tuesday, the network stated that it will not be pushing through with the series, which had been scheduled to air in February.
To focus on movies and an unannounced new scripted series in 2022, UPtv says it won’t be airing the eleventh season of Bringing Up Bates, as originally scheduled, according to a statement provided to TV Insider on January 18.
In the series, Gil Bates and Kelly Bates had 19 children. Prior to their own 2012 TLC show, United Bates of America, they were featured in the network’s 19 Kids and Counting. Bringing Up Bates premiered on UPtv in January 2015, and the show ran for ten seasons until being canceled.
The statement said, “When we launched Bringing Up Bates, the series was centered on parents with 19 children who were teens and small children.”
There were always cameras set up to record all of life’s precious events, from the smallest to the most momentous. To Gil and Kelly Jo Bates, I would want to thank you for allowing us inside your family’s home for the past 10 seasons.”The bates Family”
“Thank you to the fans that turned in every Thursday night to be a part of the trip.” The future of our programming is exciting, and we can’t wait to keep you inspired.
Immediately following the cancellation announcement, the Bates family sent a statement to People expressing their disappointment. Our family and the network are excited about what the future holds, as we know God’s timing is impeccable.
