The Pope emeritus, who was the first pope to retire from office since Gregory XII in 1415 on account of ill health, passed away on December 31 at the age of 95. He had been pope from 2005 until 2013.
It takes “courage to take tough decisions” to love the church, he stated when he resigned, and he had none. He stayed on in a lesser administrative capacity until his current health problems forced him into hiding.

Pelé
The legendary Pelé of the Brazilian soccer team passed away on December 29. He was 82 years old. After having a lesion removed from his big intestine in September 2021, the three-time World Cup winner has been getting treatment for colon cancer.
King Pelé, whose life was distinguished by inspiration and love, died away peacefully on Thursday, according to a post on his Instagram page. On his travels, Edson prevented a war, helped the less fortunate in many different countries, and preached the message that love is the answer to all of life’s problems.
“His message of today becomes a legacy for future generations,” it went on to say. It’s all about love, love, and more love till the end of time. A businesswoman named Marcia Cibele Aoki and Pelé’s six children is left behind.
Kirstie Alley
All hail and drop dead On December 5, stunning actress Kirstie Alley passed away from intestinal cancer. She was 71 years old.
Alley’s children True and Lillie told PEOPLE, “We are heartbroken to inform you that our wonderful, feisty, and loving mother has died away following a fight with cancer, which was only recently found.
They said, “She battled valiantly while surrounded by her closest relatives, leaving us with no doubt about her unending enthusiasm of life and whatever experiences lay ahead. As well-known off the screen as she was on it, she was an even better mother and grandmother.
Ted Danson, Kelsey Grammer, and Rhea Perlman—all former Cheers co-stars—all paid tribute to the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actress.
Danson told PEOPLE that he “did something I seldom do” while on an aircraft today. “I caught up on an old Cheers episode. In spite of Kirstie’s sincere desire to say yes, Tom Berenger proposed to her in that particular program “announced the performer. “Kirstie performed brilliantly. Her portrayal of a lady on the point of a nervous breakdown was both heartbreaking and hilarious.”

Allison Holker Boss, tWitch’s wife, reportedly came into an LAPD station upset because her husband had left their house without a car and had been hard to reach. Soon later, rescuers got a call from a hotel in Los Angeles where they discovered the adored dancer dead from what seemed to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Holker Boss told PEOPLE, “It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to tell my husband Stephen has departed us.
“Stephen brought light into every space he entered. Overall things, he treasured his family, friends, and community. He believed that the best way to lead was to lead with love and light. He served as the foundation of our family, was the finest husband and father, and served as an example to his followers.”
Boss taught Ellen Degeneres a routine for the season 8 debut of The Ellen Degeneres Show, and the two stayed friends ever since. Ellen Degeneres also paid tribute to Boss on social media.
The comedian said on her Instagram page, “Right now what I want to do is remember all the love and fun I had with tWitch. “He made my life so much more joyful. He undoubtedly made your heart happy, too. I’m going to tell him about some of my best times. You may also share yours if you’d like. #ILovetWitch.”

Grant Wahl
On December 10, while watching Argentina vs. the Netherlands during the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, soccer writer Grant Wahl passed out. He was 48.
His brother Eric Wahl believed there was foul play even though the exact cause of death was first unknown. Grant had written extensively about the subject of migrant fatalities at the FIFA World Cup when he was in Qatar, and earlier in the competition he had been held for entering a game wearing a rainbow jersey.
“Eric Wahl is my name. In Seattle, Washington, I reside. I am the brother of Grant Wahl. He donned the rainbow shirt to the World Cup because I am homosexual, “Eric made known via Instagram. “He said he had received death threats, but my brother was in good health. I don’t think my brother just passed away. I really want any assistance since I think he was slain.”
Nevertheless, it was discovered the award-winning journalist had an aortic aneurysm a few days later.
Grant’s wife Dr. Céline Gounder wrote on his Substack, “Grant died from the rupture of a steadily developing, undiscovered ascending aortic aneurysm with hemopericardium. “He may have first seen symptoms when he felt chest tightness just before he passed away. CPR and shocks would not have been able to rescue him.”
She explained, “His passing had nothing to do with COVID. His lack of immunization did not contribute to his death. Nothing sinister happened in his demise.”
Queen Elizabeth
The death of Queen Elizabeth II was announced on September 8 by Buckingham Palace, just over a year after Prince Philip passed away. The British king who ruled for the longest was 94.
The world over tributes came flooding in right once, but those from her family were the most heartfelt.
Prince William stated in a statement, “On Thursday, the world lost an amazing leader, whose devotion to the nation, the Realms, and the commonwealth was total. “But I’ve lost my granny. And while I shall miss her, I also feel a great sense of gratitude. I am now in my fifth decade and have benefited from the Queen’s knowledge and assurance.”
After a succession of health problems that caused her to postpone a number of engagements during the previous year, the queen passed away.
Takeoff
Takeoff, a Migos rapper, was shot and killed on November 1 in Houston early in the morning. Takeoff, real name Kirsnick Khari Ball, was killed in a fight that broke out during a private party held at Billiards & Bowling Alley. Quavo, a fellow group member who attended the event with him, was unharmed by the incident.

Bob Saget
The stand-up comedian and actor Bob Saget passed away on January 9 at the age of 65. He was most known for his work on Full House, How I Met Your Mother and America’s Funniest Home Videos.
After a performance the previous night in Jacksonville, Florida, the comedian was discovered dead in his hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando on the afternoon of January 9. The late Full House star’s family issued a statement upon word of his passing.
