Elon Musk is ‘vital’ for Twitter, according to Truth Social CEO Devin Nunes.

Devin Nunes, the current CEO of Donald Trump’s Truth Social platform and a former congressman from California asserted on Thursday that Twitter “desperately” needs Elon Musk since it is a “ghost town.”

The CEO of Trump Media & Technology Group, Nunes, stated on Thursday’s episode of “Mornings with Maria” that there is “not a lot of activity over at Twitter right now, especially when you compare it to sites like ours where we are just in our beginning stages as we continue to test and bring people on day by day.” We already outperform Twitter in terms of interactions, so Elon still has a lot of work to do there.

Musk was chosen to serve on the board of directors of the business. The trading day on April 4 saw a 27% increase in Twitter shares as a result of Musk’s revelation that he had become the company’s largest stakeholder with a 9.2% investment. Elon Musk would later buy the social media platform, which would help the stock as well. The stock, meanwhile, has decreased 17% during the past month.

Though shares were slightly higher on Thursday morning, the stock price of Digital World Acquisition Corp., the special-purpose acquisition company (SPAC) that is merging with Trump’s social networking software company, has been declining lately.

The Board of Twitter and Elon Musk

We learned through our interactions with Elon in recent weeks that he would be a valuable addition to our board. When Elon was welcomed into the board, Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal stated, “Little did Parag know, Twitter was shortly to be Elon’s.”

He is both a fervent supporter of the product and a fierce detractor of it, which is exactly what we need on @Twitter and in the boardroom to fortify us over the long haul. “Welcome, Elon!” he exclaimed.

Looking forward to working with Parag & the Twitter board to bring big changes to Twitter in the upcoming months, Musk tweeted in response to Agrawal.

Twitter Inc. reported in an SEC filing that it had reached an agreement with Musk on Monday to appoint him to the board of directors, with a term ending at the company’s annual meeting of stockholders in 2024 (which he would subsequently decline). Musk is prohibited from owning more than 14.9% of the company’s common stock while serving on the board and for 90 days after, under the agreement, whether individually or collectively.

FOX Business contacted Twitter for comment in response to Nunes’ claims, but a spokeswoman did not respond right away. Truth Social’s goal, according to Nunes, is to restore people’s ability to express themselves on social media, said broadcaster Maria Bartiromo.

Currently, it appears that there is a lot of access to Trump’s Truth Social app in the Apple App Store. The software boasts features including a personalized profile, a search engine, video capabilities, chat, and a dark mode, according to its App Store link.

Influencers, politicians, celebrities, and Americans who were among the first to pre-order the app through the Apple App Store were among the famous users of Truth Social in February.

The network would be fully operational by the end of the quarter, FOX Business initially stated in February. According to FOX Business, the software relies on cloud services provided by Rumble rather than the infrastructure needs of traditional large tech companies.

We had a lot of preorders to process at first, after which we started a beta test and unloaded people as they signed up. He noticed that there were people on the waiting list.

“We want to reach the point where we can weed out everyone who has registered with Apple. That is our goal, and once we achieve it, we will have the web application, which will then be accessible to everyone.

The next step will be to try to get everyone an Android app, said Nunes.

Regarding Elon Musk’s Purchase of Twitter

Entrepreneur Elon Musk put out a $43 billion purchase offer for Twitter, Inc. on April 14, 2022, having already paid $2.64 billion for 9.1% of the company’s shares, making him the company’s largest shareholder. Then, Musk was asked by Twitter to join their board of directors, which he initially accepted before turning it down. Twitter unveiled a “poison pill” policy the next day. Musk’s $44 billion acquisition proposal was overwhelmingly approved by Twitter’s board of directors on April 25, opening the door for the company to be privatized.

Different responses have been made to the planned takeover. The acquisition has received praise for Musk’s suggested changes and company strategy, but it has also faced criticism over concerns that there will be more abuse and false material on the website. As of May 2022, regulatory and shareholder permission remains necessary for the merger.

Elon Musk posted his first tweet on his personal Twitter account in June 2010[1], and at the time of the acquisition, he had amassed over 80 million followers. In 2017, Musk tweeted, “How much is it?” in response to a suggestion that he buy Twitter.

On March 24, 2022, Musk started tweeting criticism of Twitter, asking his followers if they agreed with the statement that “free expression is important to a functioning democracy.” Days later, he explored joining Twitter’s board of directors with Silver Lake co-CEO Egon Durban and discussed the future of social media with Twitter co-founder and former CEO Jack Dorsey.

On March 27, he conveyed this notion to Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal and Twitter board chair Bret Taylor, suggesting that either the firm be taken private or a competing social media site be launched. The remainder is history.
