The son of Debbie and Bill Suplee (who later portrayed Willie the One-Eyed Mailman in My Name Is Earl), Suplee was born in Manhattan. His parents were on-Broadway performers who met while playing in summer stock theater. Ethan said on the Your Welcome show that he quit school at the age of 14.

He demonstrated how his dedication to fitness has paid off by flexing his biceps while shirtless in the pool in a recent Instagram post. While posing, he also displayed one of his surgical scars.

Suplee underwent two significant procedures to remove his excess skin after reducing weight. On his podcast American Glutton, he described the procedure as “brutal,” but he believed it was necessary because his skin had been so stretched out from being overweight that it was no longer elastic enough to allow it to contract again.

American Glutton is a podcast on obesity that Ethan Suplee started earlier this year. He discussed his fitness journey and his own tumultuous connection with food and binge eating in the first episode.

Ethan confessed that he had always believed that eating was something that other people didn’t want him to do, therefore if he wanted to eat more, he had to do it alone. He started hiding his eating habits from people as a result of this.

In one of his podcasts, Suplee shared some information about his diet, saying: When it was time to make a change, Suplee lowered his daily calorie intake by 20% and began consuming more protein-rich, satisfying foods like turkey and non-fat Greek yogurt. He also began visiting the gym. He engages in push-pull leg workouts six times a week.
