The Animated Series Green Lantern is an American computer-animated superhero television series based on the DC Comics superhero Green Lantern. Cartoon Network showed the series as part of their “DC Nation” television block. On November 11, 2011, a one-hour sneak look aired, which lasted until March 16, 2013. On October 15, 2011, a special screening of the first episode was held at New York Comic Con 2011.
This was the first Green Lantern TV series, as well as the first DC/WB CGI series. After the unfavorable reviews and poor box office performance of the live-action picture, the series was canceled after one season due to low toy sales.

The official summary states, “Recently discharged Marine sniper John Stewart is at a crossroads in his life, one that is only worsened by acquiring an extraterrestrial ring that lends him the powers of the Green Lantern of Earth.”The animated Green Lantern film, which was first announced in 2021, features John Stewart as an animated character.
However, it appears that his transformation into a Green Lantern will be anything but straightforward. “Unfortunately, the ring comes without instructions – but it does come with baggage, such as a swarm of cosmic killers hell-bent on destroying every Green Lantern in the universe.”
This reluctant soldier must now journey into the center of a galactic Rann/Thanagar battle with the help of the lighthearted Green Arrow, Adam Strange, and Hawkgirl, and somehow succeed where all other Green Lanterns have failed.”
The series follows Hal Jordan, the Green Lantern of Sector 2814, and his companion Kilowog on their exploits. Jordan and Kilowog steal a spaceship controlled by Aya (an AI) and proceed to “Frontier Space.” Green Lanterns are being slain by Red Lanterns on the extreme border of the Guardians of the Universe’s realm.
Their commander, Atrocitus, seeks vengeance for the devastation of his world by the Manhunters, who were created by the Guardians but were also shut down by them. During their journey, they meet Razer, a Red Lantern. They kidnap him as a prisoner, but after he assists them in defeating Atrocitus, they adopt him as a teammate. Razer is in love with Aya as well, but after Atrocitus is defeated, she turns bad (i.e. corrupted) and seeks to wipe out all life in the cosmos.
Jordan realizes that Aya was born from a living entity and is alive towards the end of season one. He tries but fails to persuade her to stop her global massacre. When Razer tries to kill Aya, she defends herself by shooting a laser beam, injuring him badly. Hal persuades Aya that her actions are incorrect, and she saves the universe and heals Razer.
However, in her rage, Aya resurrected the Manhunters’ army and implanted a clone of herself inside each and every one of them. The only way to stop them is to infect them with a large computer virus, which would also kill Aya. The Manhunters are shut down when Aya releases the virus. She, on the other hand, destroys herself and passes away after saying her goodbyes to Razer.
Back on Oa, Razer can’t and won’t accept Aya is dead because she wasn’t a complete robot after all, but a living being and a computer virus can’t kill a living being. He embarks on a galactic hunt in the hopes of finding her somewhere in the cosmos. The victory of the Green Lantern Corps is celebrated. Meanwhile, a Blue Lantern ring accompanies Razer on his quest, although it is unclear whether he will acquire it.
