About Berserk

It’s based on a manga by Kentaro Miura called Berserk, which was published in Japan. It’s a medieval-themed dark fantasy animation. Gulp! The Black Swordsman and his desire to wreak havoc on hideous beasties known as Apostles are the focus of this series. Rather than fighting demons, Gut is fighting destiny itself. Betrayal, vengeance, and relying on friends are just a few of the themes that are explored in this story.

Naohito Takahashi served as the director of this debut animated series, which was produced by Oriental Light and Magic. The “Golden Age” and “Black Swordsman” arcs are adapted in this edition. Guts reflect on his time with the Band of the Hawk, a mercenary gang led by Griffith, in the series.

Puck, Donovan, and the Skull Knight, characters from the manga, were either completely omitted or their roles were blended in the novel. Guts and Casca escaped the Eclipse event by cutting out the Skull Knight, a story hole or cliffhanger that was never solved.

However, the story finishes on a sour note, with a lot of violence and explicit content being toned down for the anime. In addition, removing some of the manga’s jokes served to elevate the mood of the animation.

Berserk: Millennium Falcon Arc: Chapter of the Flowers of Oblivion, which was released in 1999, and Berserk: Millennium Falcon Arc – Chapter of the Holy Demon War, which was released in 2004, were licensed video game adaptations of the anime series.

Unless they’ve read the supplemental information, most of the story is presupposed to be known by players. Gore was added to international editions, but the story’s sexual material was largely removed, with scenes of sexual assault is particularly omitted, especially in the sequel.
