Childhood

She was born on the 23rd of April in Warsaw, Poland as Joanna Krupa. She was raised by her mother Wendy, father Steven (a hotelier), and younger sister Marta in a Roman Catholic household. When Joanna was five years old, the family relocated to Chicago, Illinois. Both Joanna and Marta attended ballet lessons as children and developed a passion for modelling by the time they were teenagers. Before moving to Los Angeles at the age of 20, Krupa attended Mary Lyon Public School and Steinmetz High School.

Modeling Career

It took Joanna a few years to get her first magazine cover after a few years of conducting test photos to build up a portfolio. She appeared on more than 100 magazine covers after her debut in Holland’s Maxim. Glamour, Ocean Drive, Shape, and Michigan Avenue, as well as her 2009 Playboy cover, are among her favourite covers.

Maxim awarded Joanna the Sexiest Swimsuit Model in 2009, and she has appeared on the magazine’s Hot 100 list multiple times, including at No. 78 in 2005, No. 66.6 in 2007, and No. 89 in 2014. Animal Welfare & Activism

Dedicated to animal welfare, Krupa has appeared in PETA campaigns on numerous occasions. Angels for Animal Rescue, a non-profit animal sanctuary in Studio City, California, was created by Joanna and Gabi Gutierrez in 2014. While growing up she had dogs and hamsters, as well as fish and frogs, and after viewing a film of “cold-hearted monsters” torturing animals, Krupa decided to get involved in animal rights activism. Controversy

After Brandi Glanville falsely accused her of infidelity and made rude comments about her genitals on a 2013 episode of “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen,” Krupa sued her for $2 million in January 2015. Glanville was obliged to publicly apologise to Joanna after the lawsuit was settled for an undisclosed sum in 2017.

By the end of 2015, Krupa and 31 other models filed a $5.3 million lawsuit against Miami Velvet, a swingers club, for utilising images of them without permission on the club’s website, social media accounts and promotional materials. Miami Velvet was ordered to pay the models $892,500 in September of this year.

Personal Life

On June 13, 2013, Joanna wed nightclub owner/businessman Romain Zago. After a five-year engagement, the pair tied the knot in Carlsbad, California, by the water’s edge but later got divorced in 2017. Kraków, Poland’s 451 Media Group CEO Douglas Nunes wed Krupa on August 4, 2018, after the couple split last year.

On November 2, 2019, Joanna and Douglas became parents to a daughter named Asha-Leigh. Speaking about her former struggles with an eating condition, Krupa revealed that she used laxatives at the age of 20 to help her shed pounds more quickly. As a devout Catholic, Joanna made the pilgrimage to Israel in August 2015 to be baptised in the Jordan.

Assets

After divorcing in February of last year, Joanna and Romain sold their 2-bedroom Miami condo they bought for $1.369 million for $1.87 million. It sold for $1.55 million the following month after the asking price was reduced to $1.595 million in August 2018. Krupa and Zago attempted to sell the condo for $1.9 million and $2.5 million, respectively, in 2014 and 2016, respectively.

As recently as 2014, it was rumoured that Joanna Krupa owed $725,000 on her mortgage; she rejected the charges and the four-bedroom Encino, California, property was sold for $689,000 in 2016; the house was purchased in 2004 for $670,000. One of Joanna’s properties in the Hollywood Hills, where four armed robbers entered the residence in 2016 and injured one guy, is also suspected to have been the site of another home invasion in February of the same year.
