She prefers Pilates because it doesn’t place a lot of stress on the joints and because she once injured a nerve in her neck and shoulders. She follows Nonna Geyzer, her personal trainer, as she performs her exercise regimen, which is intended to strengthen and tone her body.

Maintaining Her Diet

Washington once told PEOPLE at the Cannes Film Festival, “In general in life I try to live it, not diet. I think that’s hard when you’re restricting a lot. So I try to take it easy on a daily basis and do what’s going to make me feel good.”
