Kiernan Forbes Works

Entity disbanded after a prosperous first year on the music scene. The rapper’s early career underwent an enormous transformation that culminated in the founding of The IV League, a production group he started with friends Buks and Kamza.

Together, the group quickly rose to prominence in the music industry as the go-to producers for a unique sound during the mid- to late 2000s hip-hop era, earning production credits on timeless hits like ProKid’s Bhampa (2008) and Khuli Chana’s Tswakstikem (2011).

AKA, who still had a penchant for rhymes, was given opportunities thanks to his notoriety in The Ivy League’s sound.

A licencing agreement between Vth Season and Sony Music Entertainment Africa enabled the rapper to release his debut album, Alter Ego, in 2011, and his destiny as one of South Africa’s greatest contemporary musicians was sealed.

Victory Lap, one of his best-selling songs and a song that at the time distinguished him from his contemporaries, was featured on his debut album.
