Leanne Hainsby, a Peloton instructor, announced on Friday that she had been covertly battling breast cancer. After being diagnosed with the disease in August 2022, the 35-year-old took to Instagram to discuss her painful health battle.
Leanne posted a photo of herself in a hospital bed wearing a cold cap, along with a lengthy letter in which she stated she’s already had 12 weeks of chemotherapy while still teaching her classes. “I would teach my LIVE sessions on Wednesday mornings, then meet my mother and head to the treatment suite for my weekly dose (along with other meds as part of my treatment plan),” she wrote.
“Chemotherapy is no laughing matter. Cold caps are no laughing matter “She went on to say.

The British fitness sensation also disclosed that she had surgery and would soon have her portacath (a device implanted inside the body to administer treatment) removed.
“For me, treatment will continue for a long time, hospital visits are the norm, and I focus on one step at a time,” she added. “I consider myself quite fortunate to be receiving my treatment in seclusion.
I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for the nurses and physicians.”
Hainsby, 35, also said that she and her fiancé, fellow Peloton instructor Ben Alldis, were able to finish one round of IVF prior to starting chemo.
“We weren’t mentally prepared, but we got it done,” she wrote.

Hainsby, who posted images of herself wearing the aforementioned chilly headgear, hopes that by revealing her diagnosis, she will raise awareness and inspire others to seek second views.
“I’m approximately 6 months into it. “I’m in great hands, and I’ve got this,” she explained. “Nobody wants to be put in a room and informed they have cancer, and yet I’ve always felt like one of the lucky ones. “I am one of the fortunate ones.
”
The popular spin teacher ended her letter by promising fans that she “WILL BE OK,” adding that she feels more “empowered” than ever.
“You discover a strength you didn’t know you had and keep going forward,” she wrote. “Stronger, healthier, and more empowered.”

Alldis also posted images of Hainsby throughout her treatment, praising her fortitude and bravery.
“I am so extremely proud of you @leannehainsby,” he said at the start of his message. “You’ve been an absolute example to all of us, and you’ve taken every step of this road thus far with grace and with your head held high.”
“Here’s to, as you may say, bright days ahead and living our healthiest and happiest lives using the innumerable lessons that this last year has taught us,” he concluded.
“I adore you, Leanne. Your bright light in this world shines brighter than ever.
