A Canadian actress by the name of Nina Dobrev, Nikolina Kamenova Dobreva was born on January 9, 1989. She is best known for playing Katherine Pierce and Elena Gilbert in The Vampire Diaries, a supernatural drama on The CW (2009–2015).

Dobrev, who was born in Sofia and raised in Toronto, first appeared on screen in supporting roles in a number of movies before securing the role of Mia Jones in the drama series Degrassi: The Next Generation (2006–2009).

She later gained notoriety for her role in The Vampire Diaries and went on to appear in a number of major motion pictures.  Such as the coming-of-age drama.

On January 9, 1989, Nikolina Kamenova Dobreva was born in Sofia, Bulgaria, to computer specialist Kamen Dobrev and artist Michaela Dobreva (née Radeva).
Her brother is older.

She was raised in Scarborough, Toronto, after her family moved to Canada when she was two years old. She returned to Bulgaria with her mother for two years when she was ten years old.

Dobrev started taking ballet and jazz classes and participated in rhythmic gymnastics competitions while attending J. B. Tyrrell Sr. Public School and Vradenburg Junior Public School.

At Armstrong Acting Studios in Toronto, she studied acting. Dobrev then continued her studies in the arts at Scarborough’s Wexford Collegiate School for the Arts until her senior year.

Dobrev enrolled in postsecondary education at Ryerson University (now Toronto Metropolitan University) in Toronto with a sociology major, but she was unable to complete her degree due to her desire to become an actor.

Nina Dobrev’s Evolution From “Vampire Diaries” To Now

Nina hasn’t specifically addressed reports that she’s changed how she looks, but she responded angrily to Instagram users who made crude remarks about how she appears in 2019.

“Time is a revolutionary idea. I know. Crazy. It is what transpires as time passes. The Love Hard star replied to a commenter who claimed she was “getting old,” saying that “people get older.”

“It probably won’t happen to you because you seem to be different from the rest of us,” the Bulgarian actress continued in response. I’m 30, though, and damn proud of it! Enjoy your lovely day.

She responded at the time to someone who called her makeup offensive by stating that her makeup artist did a “beautiful job.”

There were more remarks made about Nina’s appearance. Because of her thin build, a different user claimed that the Originals actress “needed help,” and she called out the comment as “very rude.”

“I’ll also let you know that I regularly eat burgers, fries, and other delicious foods. You ought to follow suit, Nina said. “The best way to deal with problems is to eat everything and exercise (which I do). Contrarily, body shaming others is rude and unhealthful. The Fam star admitted that despite having “wanted to direct for a very long time,” she had to “create” the “opportunity” for herself in order to do so.
