‘Pretty Woman’ actor Richard Gere is on the way to recovery after being sick for weeks. The Golden Globe winner’s wife, Alejandra Silva said the worst is over for the Gere after he was diagnosed with pneumonia while vacationing in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico, on February 19.

Who is Richard Gere?

Richard Gere is an American actor and humanitarian, known for his roles in numerous popular movies. He was born on August 31, 1949, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Gere began his acting career in the 1970s, with appearances in several off-Broadway productions. He gained widespread recognition for his role in the 1980 film “American Gigolo,” in which he played a male escort.

Updates on Richard Gere’s Illness

Richard Gere was celebrating her wife Alejandra Silva’s 40th birthday on a vacation in Mexico when he reportedly got ill.

According to numerous sources, the “Chicago1” star already had a bad cough before departing for the trip, and it got worse while he was away. He admitted himself to the hospital, where pneumonia was subsequently determined to be his condition.

Richard spent the night in the hospital after getting his prognosis and was given antibiotics. He was released the following day and kept his family by his side as he recovered.

Alejandra shared an update on social media on their health.
