Ryan Cabrera began his career as a lead singer with the Dallas band Rubix Groove. He went on to launch a solo career in 2001, with the publication of his debut album, “Elm St.” “Take it All Away,” “You Stand Watching,” and “The Moon Under Water” are just a few of Cabrera’s previous releases.
Ryan Cabrera is a Texas native who was born on July 18, 1982. He attended Jesuit College Preparatory School for his secondary education.
He then went to the University of Texas in Dallas to further his education. Cabrera made his professional debut with Rubix Groove, a band that opened for Third Eye Blind and Cheap Trick.
Cabrera composed three tracks for Rubix Groove. A studio engineer was so taken with his work that he offered him the opportunity to record a full-length album at Deep Ellum Studios for free. Cabrera’s first album, “Elm St.,” was released in 2001 as a result. He joined Atlantic Records in the same year.
Breakthrough as Recording Artist
Cabrera’s major-label debut single, “On the Way Down,” was released in 2004 and gave him his first break as a music artist. Cabrera’s 2004 album “Take it All Away,” which opened at number eight on the Billboard 200, included the single, which reached number 15 on the Hot 100. “True” and “40 Kinds of Sadness” were also singles from “Take it All Away.”
Further Albums and Singles
Cabrera’s follow-up album, “You Stand Watching,” was released in 2005, after his debut. The singles “Shine On” and “Photo,” both inspired by Cabrera’s romance with Ashlee Simpson, charted at number 24 on the Billboard 200.
Cabrera’s single “I Will Remember You” was published in 2006, and it was re-recorded for his 2008 album “The Moon Under Water.”
Cabrera’s latest album failed to match his previous accomplishments, debuting at number 177 on the Billboard 200. “Say” and “Enemies” were two singles from the album.
Cabrera’s new singles, “Home” and “I See Love,” were released in 2012. He was the first artist to sign with Dynamite Music two years later, and his single “House on Fire” was released shortly after. Cabrera followed up with “Wake Up Beautiful,” an EP published in 2015.
Other Musical Endeavors
