The Rising of The Shield Hero Season 3 Release Date: Is It Officially Confirmed?

Shield Hero Season 3 Release Date

Aneko Yusagi’s light novel series, The Rising of the Shield Hero, has been made into an anime series. Two more seasons of Crunchyroll’s hit series were announced at the Crunchyroll Expo in 2019. The second season will premiere in 2021 at the 2020 virtual Crunchyroll Expo.

DR Movie and Kinema Citrus produced the film, which was directed by Masato Jinbo in the place of Takao Abo. Second season premiere dates were announced at “Kadokawa Light Novel Expo 2020” but were later postponed. The second season aired on AT-X and other channels from April 6 to June 29, 2022.

As both Season 2 and Season 3 were announced together at Crunchyroll Expo in 2019, speculation began that the two seasons would be intertwined in some fashion.

The second season of The Rising of the Shield Hero had only 13 episodes, compared to the two-cour run of the first season. As a result of this shift, there was some speculation that Seasons 2 and 3 would work together as a single split-cour season, with Season 3 debuting this year.

Shield Hero Season 3 Release Date

However, the conclusion of Season 2 of Shield Hero did not announce a release date for Season 3. In contrast, the second season of Spy x Family, which premiered in the spring and was immediately confirmed for the fall of 2022, has yet to air.

The fall 2022 anime window is currently crowded, with Spy x Family, My Hero Academia, and, possibly, Chainsaw Man all airing at the same time.

A second season of Shield Hero could benefit Crunchyroll, who previously contributed to the show’s creation. Accordingly, Naofumi and the rest of The Rising of the Shield Hero’s cast of characters may not return until Winter 2023 at the earliest.

This is all speculation at this point. Considering that the second and third seasons of Shield Hero were announced at the same time, we can expect to learn more about an exact release date in the near future.

Where to Watch the Rising of The Shield Hero Season 3

Because of Crunchyroll’s commitment to the series, Season 3 of The Rising of the Shield Hero will almost certainly be available there.

First season of Shield Hero has a production committee made up of members from the popular anime streaming service after they recommended it for adaptation. Crunchyroll’s Expo event also saw the announcement of the show’s second and third seasons. AT-X in Japan has just begun airing the second season.
