Netflix has yet to confirm a third season of Sweet Magnolias, but season 2 left viewers eager for more from Serenity, a God-fearing town.
This season’s revelations have put the faith of Maddie and Dana to the test, so it’s a good thing they have each other. To help them work through their issues, Sue and Heather keep a never-ending supply of margaritas handy.
In their small town with white picket fences, life has only gotten more difficult for the three friends trying to make their way through it all.
Even with the potential for major consequences for all of them, the series’ cliffhanger leaves us wondering: Will there even be a season three? All the information we’ve gathered so far is here.
Sweet Magnolias Season 3 Plot
At least that’s what JoAnna Garcia Swisher thinks is going to happen in the upcoming season. As she explained in an interview with ET, the show will most likely pick up “close to where we left off,” because she believes that it will be impossible to ask, “Whatever happened with Helen? “, and “Is Justin in jail? “, months later.

If she’s right (and we’re sure she is), then season 3 will answer all of our questions following the season 2 finale’s cliffhanger ending. Our first choice is: When Ryan proposes, will Helen accept, or reject it? Fans have already begun to form opinions, but Heather Headley tells TVLine that she believes it could go either way, given her past relationships with both men.
But don’t hold your breath for a decision in the immediate future: “I know what she’s going to say, but I wouldn’t guess that timeline,” showrunner and executive producer Sheryl Anderson tells EW.
Sweet Magnolias Season 3 Release Date
Sweet Magnolias has yet to receive a second season on Netflix. We can expect to return to Serenity sometime in early 2023 if the show is renewed. For now, we’re going to assume they’ll release the next season in February 2022, just like they did for the previous one. At the very least, that’s our hope on 23 June 2023.
