When will season 2 of That ’90s Show be released?

We haven’t had a genuinely excellent sitcom to binge-watch in a long time, but thankfully Netflix has rectified that problem with the release of the new sitcom That ’90s Show last week (19th January).

The amusing new sitcom is a reimagining of the legendary That ’70s Show set in 1995, and follows Leia Forman (Callie Haverda), the daughter of Eric and Donna from the original series, as she spends the summer with her grandparents in Point Place.

Desperate to reinvent herself during her time off, Leia meets new people and meets Jay, the son of Michael and Jackie, alias Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, who make guest appearances in the series.

The 10-part series was only released today, but we’re already wondering if there will be a second season. Here’s what we know so far regarding a possible second season of Netflix’s That ’90s Show.

There is currently no assurance from Netflix that the series will be renewed for a second season. However, we shouldn’t give up hope because Netflix frequently waits to see how a show is received before renewing it.

In an interview with Collider, Reyn Doi, who plays Ozzie, hinted that the show would return for another season. When asked what he believed another season could cover, Reyn disclosed that the show’s founders wanted to do it every summer season, adding, “I guess their idea was to do it every season in the summer.”

What Did the Cast Have to Say About Season 2?

While Netflix has not confirmed a second season, the cast appears to be eager for more. Ashley Aufderheide, who plays Leia’s pal Gwen, told J-14 that she “truly, really, really wants a season two.” “Nothing makes me happier than a second season. I would literally do anything.”

Ashley stated that she would want to see Gwen explore new sides of herself and possibly join a band in the future season two. Callie Haverda, who plays the primary character Leia, hasn’t revealed much yet, other than that she hopes for a second season.

What Would the Second Season of That ’90s Show Be About?

While season two has not yet been confirmed, we can make educated guesses about what it might contain.

Warning: there will be spoilers! Season one ended with Leia and Nate having a moment in the kitchen and almost kissing when Gwen came in and interrupted them. Jay also apologized to Leia and offered her another chance to make their relationship work before returning to Chicago.

Season two might find Leia returning to Point Place for the holidays or the following summer to visit her grandparents and hang out with her friends. That season would then need to handle Leia’s feelings toward both Jay and Nate, as well as the potential consequences of pursuing a relationship with any of them.

Who Would Appear in Season 2 of That ’90s Show?

Callie Haverda is expected to reprise her role as Princess Leia, as well as the return of Ashley Aufderheide, Mace Coronel, Maxwell Acee Donovan, Reyn Doi, Sam Morelos, Debra Jo Rupp, and Kurtwood Smith.
