What Happened to Bronny James: Athlete Rushed To The Hospital

Bronny James, the loved son of LeBron, was rushed to the hospital earlier yesterday. The day began in normalcy with Bronny heading out to do his basketball workout. But the toll events along the way took such a turn that he had to be rushed to the hospital, leaving everyone shocked and worried. Here’s what happened to him.

The 18-year old player was halfway through his routine basketball workout when he felt uneasiness creeping in his body. The next minute, he was on the ground with his hand on his chest, grasping for air. Bronny James suffered a cardiac arrest while workout.

“Yesterday while practicing Bronny James suffered a cardiac arrest. Medical staff was able to treat Bronny and take him to the hospital. He is now in stable condition and no longer in ICU. We ask for respect and privacy for the James family and we will update media when there is more information.”

TMZ Sports authorities have confirmed that quick action was taken without any delay and a 911 call was made at 9:26 AM Monday from USC’s Galen Center. This was the venue where the team plays and practices and where James was practicing too.

The 18 year old hopper lay unconscious there, however, was saved in time because of the speedy response of the other players and authority members present there.

It was a shock to the fans following Bronny. Everyone was praying for the recovery of the player. Cardiac arrest among athletes is not new. There have been a plethora of cases of athletes suffering from cardiac arrest.  An examination of NCAA student-athlete sudden deaths between 2004 and 2008 found cardiovascular-related sudden death was the leading cause of death in 45 cases, or about 9 each year.
