Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, two of Bollywood’s brightest stars, married in Mumbai on Thursday in an intimate ceremony attended by some of India’s greatest actors.
The Bollywood power couple sliced cake and raised a toast to their marriage at the Vastu building, where they both own private apartments, in one of India’s most highly anticipated celebrity weddings in recent years. The couple wore Sabyasachi, a well-known Indian designer.
On Wednesday, the pre-wedding festivities were off with a traditional Hindu rite known as Ganesh Puja at Kapoor’s Pali Hill mansion.
The wedding ceremonies were held at the Kapoors’ home and other assets, including RK Studios. There was also a Mehendi ritual, which is common in Punjabi marriages.
The wedding’s date had been kept a secret, with neither star revealing it. According to CNN station News-18, speculation about the upcoming wedding has been prevalent since Tuesday, when photographs of Kapoor’s Mumbai home decked with lights circulated on social media.
Both Kapoor and Bhatt are among Bollywood’s highest-paid actors, with the latter ranked ninth and the highest-ranking woman in Forbes India’s newest Celebrity 100 list, with their combined 2019 earnings totaling about $14 million.
Both performers come from a family of well-known actors and filmmakers. Bhatt is the daughter of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and actress Soni Razdan, while Kapoor is the grandson of Bollywood great Raj Kapoor and the son of actors Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh.
Who Is Alia Bhatt Dating?
Millions of admirers were enthralled by Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s wedding because they couldn’t get enough of their favorite couple.
It’s reasonable to say that the wedding was a gorgeous occasion based on the wedding photos that have been making the rounds on the internet. The couple wedded on Ranbir’s ‘balcony,’ which was their favorite area. Near and dear ones of Ranbir and Alia joined the celebrations.
Alia took over the internet on Thursday after sharing regal wedding photos of herself and Ranbir with a sweet statement.
Their friends and family also congratulated them by posting multiple photos with the newlyweds. Sunil Talekar and Yusuf Ibrahim, Ranbir, and Alia’s bodyguards, also posted happy messages for the pair.
Sunil, Alia and Ranbir’s bodyguard, got emotional and made a beautiful comment while sharing a photo with the newlyweds. “I can say my heart is overflowing with bliss today,” he added, “from holding your small hands to seeing you as a bride.”
Yusuf, on the other hand, congratulated Ranbir and Alia with a cute photo. “Shhh…,” he said in the caption. Mr. and Mrs. Kapoor from Mubrook.”
At the 2019 Filmfare Awards, Alia publically confessed her love for Ranbir as she won her prize. “Meghna (Gulzar), for me, Raazi is you, your blood and sweat,” she added in her speech.
You’re the important lady in my life. Without you, Vicky (Kaushal), the movie would be incomplete. Thank you for being my mentor, parent, and fashion police, Karan. There, my dear one, tonight is all about love. I love you, Ranbir.”
Ranbir told veteran journalist Rajeev Masand in 2020 that if the epidemic hadn’t struck, he would have married Alia by now. “I want to achieve that goal as soon as possible in my life,” the actor stated.
Alia Bhatt made waves again recently when she was asked to react to Ranbir’s statement before the premiere of her film Gangubai Kathiawadi. “He is right, but in my head, I am married to Ranbir, and I have been married to Ranbir in my thoughts for a long time,” she told NDTV.
In an interview with India Today, Alia said something similar. “If you ask me when I’ll be married, I’m already married to him in my brain.” Put that to the side! I resolved to marry him the day I saw him on film for the first time. That was when I was a small child. But that’s exactly what I meant, and I believe it’s a mental state. “It’s the calm you have in your mind, heart, and connection,” she explained.
