Following the introduction of Dwayne Johnson’s football league, Meghan Rapinoe, a US soccer legend, may put him in legal trouble. She also made fun of him for his comments, which has sparked some debate.
Only after a dispute in the logo of the football league known as The XFL did the icon decide to use The Rock’s well-known catchphrase against him. It’s caused a lot of friction between the two characters.
TOGETHXR published a comment on social media on the subject, confirming that they had sent the XFL a “legal notice”:
“Women’s creativity and labor are frequently underestimated and underappreciated.
The norm around here is diversity and equality. We’re glad the XFL is embracing diversity, but this isn’t it.
We’ve sent out a legal notification and will continue to defend our vital work.”
The Phrase of Controversy
On Friday, the corporation shared two photographs side by side on Twitter, emphasizing the similarities between them.
“Too frequently, women’s work and innovation are underestimated and devalued,” the tweet stated.
The norms here are diversity and equality. We’re glad the XFL is embracing diversity, but this isn’t it. We’ve sent a legal notification and will continue to defend our valuable work.”
Rapinoe also shared her thoughts on the incident, mocking Dwayne Johnson in the process. “Welp,” she wrote.
This is a little uncomfortable. The only thing @TheRock and @XFL2023 are planning is a retaliation to the cease-and-desist order, as well as a whole new brand identity. “Lock boys, @togethxr got this.”
As we all know, The Rock began his career as a wrestler, and his catchphrase, “If you smell what The Rock is cooking,” became instant popularity with the public. Rapinoe had made a comment in response to it.
Morgan, Sue Bird, and Manuel, among others, gathered to preserve the brand’s identity. They’ve been observed underlining their belief in the word ‘Together.’ Even in the video, Rock was accused of abusing the phrase.
The new football league has sparked a lot of controversies. TogethXR’s entire staff is working to shed additional light on this circumstance, as a well-known celebrity like The Rock failed to demonstrate any originality.
Alex Morgan, Sue Bird, Chloe Kim, and Simone Manuel, all professional athletes, created TOGETHXR. It is an “unapologetic platform where representation and equality are the norms,” according to the company’s website.
TOGETHXR’s mission is to “shatter the frequently narrow representations of women in the media with content presenting a diverse and inclusive community of game-changers, culture-shapers, thought leaders, and barrier breakers,” according to their website.
